Cassie’s Cause, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families, has made 2025 one of its most impactful years yet. With a mission rooted in compassion and care, the organization provides restful and relaxing retreats at Pickwick Lake—giving families battling cancer a chance to step away from treatments, stress, and hospital visits to instead focus on healing, bonding, and making memories.

This year, the success of the program has been extraordinary. Since our founding Cassie’s Cause has hosted 17 families at Pickwick Lake, providing them with a peaceful retreat experience they’ll never forget. In addition to these retreats, the organization has extended its generosity even further, awarding over $100,000 in patient financial aid. These funds help ease the overwhelming burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis, offering relief and security when families need it most.

The impact doesn’t stop there. Through retreats, financial aid, and ongoing support, Cassie’s Cause has touched the lives of more than 100 local patients and their families this year alone. For many, this has meant not only receiving practical assistance but also finding a renewed sense of hope, community, and encouragement during one of life’s most difficult journeys.
